Scarborough Fair

Scarborough Fair is a traditional English tune from the middle ages. The expression of the piece is  one of melnancholy, the result of the minor tonality. The lyrics tell the story of unrequited love, with  the singer describing a set of impossible tasks for his lover before she can come back to him. This  sort of love story was popular in medieval times, and many other tunes from that period have a  striking similarity to the story told by Scarborough Fair. Difficulty grade 2+.
